Relationships—and Design—That Stand the Test of Time
There’s nothing as rewarding as getting to work with long-standing clients again, and this year has brought three all-stars—Turneffe Island Resort, Nimmo Bay, and Thomson Safaris—back into the Leap studio to evolve the websites we originally created for them a decade ago.
Each of these extraordinary travel brands came to us with the same challenge: update the site to meet modern standards without losing the essence that made their original designs so beloved.

Turneffe Island Resort: A Legacy of Luxury
In 2016, we partnered with Turneffe Island Resort to create a website that captured the serenity and exclusivity of this private island escape off the coast of Belize. Our original design emphasized immersive imagery and an understated elegance that mirrored the resort’s laid-back luxury. The site became a key part of Turneffe’s marketing and was incredibly effective in attracting guests, turning what was a hidden gem into a world-renowned destination.
Eight years later, our goal wasn’t to reinvent Turneffe’s digital identity but to modernize and strengthen it. We preserved the website’s aesthetic, with its emphasis on boundless adventure and luxurious relaxation, as well as its intuitive layout while bringing in even more impactful visuals (visit the homepage for a compelling highlight reel of the resort’s many experiences!). At the same time, we enhanced performance, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness. It’s still unmistakably Turneffe—just sleeker, faster, and more future-ready.

Nimmo Bay: A Wild Return
When Nimmo Bay approached us in 2013, they were ready to reposition their brand as not just a luxury wilderness resort but a place designed for deep personal transformation. The resulting website told a powerful story, balancing high-end hospitality and thoughtfully curated experiences with the magical, untouched beauty of British Columbia’s West Coast.
In 2025, we returned to deepen that story. With subtle visual enhancements and a refreshed information architecture, we made the site even more intuitive while preserving the aesthetic that defines Nimmo Bay. The new site builds on the original’s emotional resonance, now with more robust tools for planning a stay and exploring the resort’s many experiences.

Thomson Safaris: Honouring Legacy, Embracing Change
Our collaboration with Thomson Safaris began in 2017 with a bold, photo-forward website that celebrated the majesty of Tanzania and the company’s deep roots in the region. That site gave Thomson the storytelling platform they needed to connect with travellers seeking meaningful, ethical safaris.
In this year’s relaunch, our focus was on refinement. We brought the original design language forward while updating typography, streamlining navigation, and enriching the user experience for mobile users. The result is a site that honours the spirit of the original while offering modern-day functionality—and one that’s ready for the next generation of travellers.
The success of the Thomson Safaris’ site led to another landmark project: Thomson Treks, the sister company offering guided treks up Kilimanjaro. Stay tuned for more on that project soon—much like Kilimanjaro itself, it’s larger than life!

Each of these redesigns began with a shared appreciation: the original websites still worked. They still resonated. But great design alone isn’t enough, not when our clients are growing, evolving, and facing new challenges. So we asked the deeper questions: Where are they now? Where are they going? By thinking strategically about what each brand needed next, we preserved what made these sites successful while expanding their potential. The result wasn’t just an update; it was a reimagining. Stories need to grow with their audiences, and each of these websites had more to say.
To Turneffe Island Resort, Nimmo Bay, and Thomson Safaris: thank you for trusting us again. We’re proud to be part of your evolving stories.
