From wild to wonderment: Reimagining a website for wildlife conservation
Nature and art are at the heart of Leap. When we were presented with the opportunity to reimagine the BC Wildlife Federation (BCWF) website, we leapt at the opportunity.
BCWF’s biggest challenge was to have a web presence with all relevant information, like governance documents and fundraising initiative, without overwhelming the user, and more importantly, not alienating them. Essentially, a digital showcase of their province-wide conservation initiatives and programs that’s equal in beauty to the breathtaking nature they protect and represent.
It was important for us to give a nod to BCWF’s heritage from the onset. But we also wanted to inject a freshness to their website. It had to represent their new vision as stewards of BC’s wildlife in the 21st century, as well as to attract a younger audience to the cause.
Vintage camping illustrations inspired us, which we then updated with modern typography and graphic design. We also saturated the website with the rich and spectacular nature photography beautifully captured by their own members.
The result: An immersive experience that showcases the majesty of BC’s wilderness. A navigation system that helps the federation stay organized and informative. And a high-impact website that establishes BCWF’s integral role as the leader in conservation.Visit Website
