SOL Mexican Cocina is an exciting collection of restaurants operating in four locations across the US. More than just a place to eat, a visit to SOL is an authentic experience: the food, space and atmosphere are all artfully designed to encourage togetherness and keep patrons coming back. The entire concept for SOL, from the food to the architectural and interior design choices, is inspired by the uniquely fresh, simple coastal cooking and culture of Baja, which the owners experienced during their many surf trips down the peninsula.
Leap was tasked with updating the look and feel of the brand and designing and building a new website that is just as fresh as the delicious food served up at every SOL location.
A sunny colour palette coupled with out of this world shots of mouthwateringly fresh food and the lively social buzz make the entire web experience especially immersive. Message matching is spot on – what you see is what you will get when you visit any SOL location.
Custom photography and video provided more than enough fuel to fire our inspiration for a brand experience that is completely reflective of the atmosphere at each SOL location.
To further enhance the immersive nature of the design, we developed a custom menu to create awesome UX and gesture on mobile.
The SOL team is extremely passionate about what they do, a fact that is articulated in every piece of website copy and content. Navigating the website is like experiencing the origins of SOL firsthand. User-centred functionality and Baja-specific design elements make the web experience feel utterly authentic at every click.

We recognize this is a challenging time for everyone, and, in light of the rapidly changing status of Covid-19, we’re taking steps to minimize the spread of the virus in order to protect the health of the Leap team and provide uninterrupted service.
The health of clients and team members is a priority, and while Leap will remain open for business during this time, We’ve taken the appropriate precautions to maintain a safe workplace and community. All client meetings have been shifted to online platforms until further notice and team members are working remotely to minimize potential exposure.
